The one about finding a new flat, moving and travelling back home

Yep, these past few weeks have been crazy busy.
Traveling back and forth between Switzerland to celebrate my birthday and London, where my forthcoming flat move kept me busy, I did not really find the time for a (longer and a chattier) blog post.
But during that time, I took a lot of pictures (mostly) on my new phone (!) which I would like to share with you. It is obviously a colourful mix between events, as well as geographical locations! ;)
Hope you guys like posts like these, since I will be posting more stuff like that in the future. Due to my newly regained love called "photography".
Oh and stay tuned for more interior decoration ideas on this blog! PLUS: don't forget to follow me on Instagram! ABOUT_JENNA

Confession of love: LONDON

It`s been a busy week in lovely London.. Loads of Uni stuff going on, but still, I didn't miss wandering around and exploring my favourite city of all time, I can now call my home!

It started off with a visit to London`s famous Portobello Street Market. It`s been a sunny (but freezing cold day) for once and passing all the food and vegetable stands, made my heart jump for joy!
It followed a great birthday bash in the pub district of Old Street. Chinese food, karaoke and pubs! Three of my favorite things in the whole world! Could this get any better?

Yes it could! I discovered this tiny vegan coffeeshop not far from where I live, right next to Regent`s canal and the Camden Market. Yep, I`m now an official addict of their Panini toastie! (Which tastes even better with a hangover!)

A few busy and tiring uni days followed.. And the weather didn't really contribute uplifting the mood.. Time for another museum: The National Portrait Gallery. Great paintings and photographs, but way too many tourists.. Still managed to catch a glimpse at Ziggy Stardust :)

And here I am now. Sipping my soya flat white @ Kahaila Brick Lane, reading the news, writing and editing.

Yes, I bet, I can't get any better! Thank`s lovely London!

THE OTHER FLEA MARKET!

WUHU! Last sunday, we went to our local flea market to sell some older stuff of mine! While listening to indie tunes, we`ve been selling mostly clothes and bags and were quuuuitee successful.
AND did you reckon? EXACTLY, the whole market was in a abandoned indoor swimming pool, where I used to go swimming when I was a little girl! I just love the fact, that old abandoned buildings, like this swimming pool, are used for public events, like concerts, clubs or cinemas.
So if you are going to visit Switzerland once, check out "Neubad" in Lucerne. It`s worth a visit, they do pretty amazing stuff!

Rainy summer? 4 things to lighten up an ordinary day!

This year`s summer in Europe, especially in Switzerland, does not deserve to be called summer... Clouds, rain and huge puddles, shape our ordinary day. The clever ones flew to more or less close and warm places, the others are stuck in this dark plight, caused by our so called "summer".
So am I. And because of that, I decided to show you 4 things, which enrich my ordinary, cold summer day.

1. The colourful wellies:

I just love wellies! (or gumboots or however you call`em :) And I love them even more, when they appear in a loud pink or green! Spotted at a Navyboot store in Switzerland or online: navyboot.com

2. The fun case:

Yay, I finally found the coolest and most fashionable cases for my iPhone! You wanna transform your phone into a fancy nail polish or into your favourite perfume? Sure, Iphoria made it possible!

4. A little sarcasm a day keeps the doctor away:

This sweater is perfect for a moody, rainy day and we can only hope that this saying will conjure many smiles on peoples faces when passing by! ;)

4. Show me your fingers:

When visiting my favourite european city of all time, London, I got myself some fancy nailstickers from topshop. Bored of always applying a red or black polish, this method of a different nail design is very easy to do and just look super cute!

Have a "non-rainy" summer and loads of sunshine in your hearts! :)

Spa souvenirs from PRAGUE

I spent the last weekend in Prague, where I, apart from experiencing its impressive culture&arts, did quite a lot of shopping. Well, the prices might be a tiny bit different to our prices here in Switzerland but the diversity and exclusivity of the shops are pretty striking too.
So I found this very lovely shop called Manufaktura, where they mainly sell interior, as well as Spa stuff to very affordable prices!
First I bought this hand-cream including minerals and trace from the Dead Sea, which has beneficial effects for the entire organism, it says. When first using it, I immediately realised that my hands are much softer but still not too moist (cause thats what I usually really disgust when using regular hand-cream)
The second item is a hair mask, again produced out of Dead Sea minerals, which I just used when coming back from my trip. My hair is now really soft and they smell very pleasant but again not too intensive.
Cause I am such a candle weirdo, I cannot walk by such a nice baby, so I placed it right next to my bed and it looks really classy, I believe!
The last item is something I have always wanted to try out: A gel-mask for eyes. It may be applied in the form of hot and cold compress and really calms and relaxes tired eyes. It also reduces swelling and supports blood circulations and alleviates headache. I tried it out and it is soooo relaxing and seriously felt like I am at a professional Spa. :)

So if you will visit Prague once, check out this beautifully decorated shop!

Have a lovely and sunny week,

J*

COME SUMMER, COME!

Hey everyone!

My finals are almost over and summer is finally about to start here in Switzerland. Since I am taking a gap year, I really hope I get more time to write on the Walk Of Frame and to start new, exciting projects!
Soon, you`ll find my blog on Facebook, where you can easily detect all new updates and posts while surfing through social media. Especially for those people not using google and gmail, this new adaption is pretty cushy :)

Every new summer also brings new trends to us, so I assembled a few of those summer "must-owns" for 2014!

1. Birkenstock sandals:
Heidi Klum secretly knew, when subscribing for the Birkenstock commercial yeeeeears ago, that those shoes are going to be a huge trend sometime! So yes, their time has finally arrived! This summer is all about comfy shoes. And I must admit, combined to a long hippie dress or jeans shorts, those shoes are a fantastic companion for summer 2014.

 2. Tinted sunglasses
Had a long night, even a little hangover? Well, here you go! Cover your eyes with colourful tinted sunglasses and look fabulous at the same time!

 3. Hippie-flower-hair-band:
What should I say about this? It just looks soo romantic and mellow, perfect for a quite summer evening with friends or on a festival. Those bands are available almost everywhere, yesterday I just detected a really nice and affordable one at H&M. Check it out!

 4. The "Two in one sunscreen":
Cause I have a pretty light skin and I get sunburned just so easily, I just HAVE TO USE sunscreen. So I found this pretty awesome one, which includes carotin (from carrots obviously ;) ) and this tans your skin while enjoying the sun. ( I am not really a biology or chemistry expert, but google is, so just look it up if you want to know more about it!) ;)
But be careful, it only has a very low sun protection, maybe you`ll fin another one with a higher protection but I have to say I am really happy with this one.

Hope you all have a relaxed and fashionable summer!

THINK before INK

Hey Guys,
I have always been a huge tattoo fan! I love the idea that your body states a piece of "art", which you can easily garnish and decorate. Yeah, "easy" to get one, but it`s also a fact, that it is even harder (and painful!) to get rid of it if you do not like anymore...
Additionally, I believe that a tattoo should always have a special meaning to you. Just getting a random one was never my intention! So, about 5 years ago I started doing some research, looking at hundreds of pictures on Pinterest of celebrities and bloggers who have a tattoo, where they have it and what font they used. So I was really THINKING BEFORE INKING!
I totally fell in love with Andy`s lovely little "Smile" tattoo she got on her rib cage. (This is actually her own handwriting btw! Very lovely I think!) Since this placement is apparently very easy to cover, if the tattoo wouldnt be suitable for an event or whatever, I decided to get one there as well!
Cause, I am about to finish school in a few weeks, I decided to "mark off" this event in my life by getting a tattoo, which will always remind me of that time..
What it will look like and what message I gonna carry for the rest of my life, is my little secret for now! ;)
But I`ll assure you, there are pictures coming sooner than you think! :)

Have a lovely, sunny afternoon!

It is all about the belly!

I always like to exclaim that fashion is pure recycling! Trends come and go, but you can be sure that it will return sometime. This exactly happened with belly t-shirts, which used to be a huge trend during the 90s!
And lo and behold, it is THE number one trend for the upcoming summer!
however... this trend is, unfortunately, only for really skinny girls with a trained body.. Otherwise, this trend looks very fast, very bitchy and tacky.
It is certainly not the easiest trend to style, but if you do it right, a crop top can look very sexy and sophisticated at the same time!
I personally love the diversity of this trend! Combined to simple jeans or a little dress, it can really look fabulous. Additonally, those tops vary from sleeve length, pattern,  to how much skin you want to show off.
If you a bit shy concerning this trend, start off with one that only shows a little strip of your skin, other bolder ones can absolutely go wild with this trend!
Here are some excellent examples of the brand new collection of Zara. I already bought two of those and I cannot wait for the weather to change and to show it off! :)

Trenchcoats, totally trenchant!

 WELCOME BACK good old trenchcoat!
I am so in love with these two outfits by Michael Kors! Just because they are so sustainable and never out of fashion.
So if you own such a lovely coat , never never never (!) give it away, even if you think you are absolutely not gonna wear it again! Recently my mum confessed, that she gave away a blue-marine trench coat exactly because she thought it was out of fashion.. Fashion is never going out of fashion! Keep your stuff, one day it is going to be "in" again! Promise! :)

Mustard, canary or lemon?

WOW! This year starts of colorful! NR.1 trend color this up-coming season is, not to overlook, YELLOW!
It seems, that no other color causes such great controversy among people. (maybe apart from green..)
I have to admit, I always thought this color best suits more naturally tanned girls with chocolate brown or dark hair.. I am obviously quite the opposite... blonde, blue eyes and the "darkest" I get in summer is with a sunburn(!) So as I heard of this trend, I was not about to jump for joy, but so I looked closer at some catwalk photos, especially at the combination of the color with fabrics or accessories.
In the first picture, the designer has combined a fringy yellow skirt with a light black and white spotted blouse. In the choice of the shoes, we again detect black and yellow. A very clever and classic look! I also would not go with big, massive jewelry, rather a little black shoulder bag.

This second picture is a more classy and glamorous outfit but it definitely shows, that yellow can also be very suited for a gala dinner, for instance. Here, I would again pick a black clutch to perfect this beautiful dress.

Oh and look! These two models are blondes and fair-skinned, as I am! ;)
So I would say, just go for it! Maybe start of with a bag or a lovely pair of sandals. But I truly believe, it would suit almost everyone!

All the best,
J*

Queen Alexa

I got myself a pre-christmas present I wanted for such a long time;
Alexa Chungs book called "IT"
As she is my absolute fashion icon, as well as my biggest inspiration, this book was an utterly MUST-OWN for me!
And I must say, I adore it as much as I adore Alexa! The rosé pink cover with the the catching blue eye in its middle, is so simple and still so precious... So the content of the book. Filled with very personal photos and illustrations of her own, this book embodies her sense of fashion, art and her way of going though life with such an ease. Oh brother, I cannot stop raving about Alexa! :)

So, if you are looking for a cool christmas present for a good friend or sister, this would definitely be the perfect choice! (Or for your own of course too!) ;)

THANK YOU ALEXA!
